Privacy

Nothing you do here leaves your device. The site has no accounts, no cookies, no analytics scripts and no trackers. Your practice progress and the reading lamp stay in your own browser, and you can back them up or erase them whenever you like. The server keeps only the usual counts of visits.

§ 1What your browser keeps

Two entries in this site’s local storage, and an offline copy of the pages. Nothing else.

fol.ledger
Your practice record: the level, your sessions, the signs you miss, and the trainer settings (speeds, tone, session length, the key you send with). It is written when you practise.
fol.lamp
Present only while the reading lamp is on, so the dark page stays dark when you come back.
Offline copy
The site’s own pages, fonts and scripts, stored by the browser so the folio opens without a network. It holds nothing about you.

The sound is made on your device. The site’s headers switch off the camera, the microphone and the location for every page.

§ 2Back up or move your progress

Open Practice, then Progress, and press Download a backup. You get a small JSON file. On another device, or after a clean-up, press Load a backup and pick that file.

§ 3Erase your progress

Delete this site’s data in your browser. In Chrome, tap the icon left of the address, then Site settings, then Delete data. In Safari on a Mac, open Settings, Privacy, Manage Website Data, and remove morsealphabet.net.

Your record, the lamp and the offline copy go at once. Download a backup first if you may want them back. A private window keeps nothing after you close it.

§ 4Cookies and analytics

The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics scripts. It has no advertising, no tracking pixels and no code from other companies: every file comes from morsealphabet.net.

§ 5What the server sees

The pages are served by Cloudflare. Like any web server, it sees each request: the address asked for, your IP address and the name of your browser. The site’s editor sees only Cloudflare’s aggregate counts, such as visits per page and per country; no script on the page collects them.

§ 6Questions

Write to the editor about anything on this page: contact@morsealphabet.net
